steps on steps on steps

Here’s a little recap of my time in the Himalayas! We spent a couple of days trekking around and sharing the gospel with people in the villages.

Excited. Nervous. Amazed that we get this opportunity. Pack. Have to downsize the the backpack. Long bus rides. Uplifting podcasts. Step out of the bus. Captivated by my surroundings. Upward climb. Struggling. Realized I may be in for a wild ride. Lots of steps. Slippery steps. Beautiful breathtaking views, tough inclines. Long days. Sweat. Almost falling off the mountain. Leeches. Water buffaloes. Tea. Home stays. New friendships. Deep conversations. Lots of laughs. Tears. Yelling “Burn in hell!” at the leeches and then having everyone and their mother attack me (the leeches. Before that I had zero leech bites and then everyone and their mother decided to come after me). Waterfalls. Battle ants in your hut, because you accidentally left a bag of skittles open when you left in a hurry to ministry. Listening to the sound of nature. Sore muscles. Happy heart. Being encouraged by new believers, even when we go there to do the encouraging. Loving on the untouchables. Praying for the sick. See God heal a lady who was severely sick. Listen to a couples story under faint candle light in their hut while they make us tea. Hear about how God is pursuing this lady in her dreams, since she doesn’t know how to read and sleeps with her Bible under her pillow. Walk down the mountain at the end of the weekend with a full heart and gratitude for Gods goodness. Sit on the bus looking out the window with awe that this is my life. 26 Miles. 3 days. Thankful.
